The Presidents of the United States frontman Chris Ballew has reinvented himself as Caspar Babypants, one of the country’s most innovative kids’ music makers. His music, as always, is smart, clever and infectious—it’s just now written with children in mind. For our latest installment of the Twelve Days of Fretboard, we visit Ballew in the tiny gardening shed where he records his albums. We hear about the one-that-got-away from Ballew, a beloved guitar that was given to him by Morphine’s Mark Sandman.
Ballew plays “Too Dirty to Love” off of his new Caspar Babypants release, I Found You! The voice you hear in the background belongs to the FJ’s Rachel Flotard, who guests on the album.
