David Bromberg – “A Fool For You” (solo)

We recently stopped by Seattle’s The Triple Door to catch up with David Bromberg before his band’s show. The master instrumentalist and singer-songwriter (not to mention notable violin expert) sat in a chair in the center of the dressing room as we all squeezed in tightly around him. Bromberg then played a tune that he has been working on for several years… Ray Charles’ “A Fool For You.”

Over the years, Bromberg has collaborated with Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Willie Nelson and Jerry Garcia, to name just a few. His musical career has spanned all branches of Americana: blues, rock and roll, jazz. He’s now getting back to his roots with his new album, The Blues, The Whole Blues and Nothing but the Blues. On this track, Bromberg is playing his signature edition Martin M-42 (prototype #4 of 4) with Italian alpine spruce top and East Indian rosewood back and sides.
