The call went out around 10 p.m. on November 7, 2015 from the Fretboard Summit mainstage. “Does anyone want to play ‘Sitting on Top of the World’ in the key of E?” With that request from Bryan Sutton, many of the artists at the first-ever Fretboard Summit gathered onstage for an all-star take on the classic Mississippi Sheiks tune.

All-told, the performers included Sutton, Courtney Hartman, Matt Munisteri, Joe Henry, Bill Frisell, Scott Nygaard and Blake Mills. As evidenced by the parkas, it was a cold night in Northern California but everyone had a great time.
