Video Premiere: Mighty Poplar – “A Distant Land to Roam”

The Fretboard Journal is proud to premiere the latest video from Mighty Poplar, the new bluegrass supergroup featuring Andrew Marlin of Watchhouse, Noam Pikelny and Chris Eldridge of Punch Brothers, bassist Greg Garrison (Leftover Salmon) and fiddler Alex Hargreaves (Billy Strings).

Mighty Poplar’s ten-track debut comes out on Free Dirt Records on March 31, 2023 and features bluegrass and bluegrass-inspired tunes from a wide array of artists including John Hartford, Bob Dylan, Norman Blake, and Leonard Cohen. Marlin taught himself “A Distant Land to Roam,” after hearing Hazel Dickens & Alice Gerrard’s Won’t You Come and Sing For Me?
