Give the Gift of the Fretboard Journal

November 2020

A little history: Back in 2005, we set out to create a guitar magazine like no other. It would be filled with in-depth interviews with players and builders and gorgeous, never-before-seen photography. We’d feature the good stuff – acoustic and electric – with a focus on the handmade and vintage gear that we personally covet so much and musicians we can’t stop listening to. We’d have fun – publishing unique perspectives and tales you won’t find anywhere else – because making music (and hearing about how gear made) is fun. Lastly, as a reader-supported magazine, we’d never compromise on production quality, offering at least 100 pages of pure editorial per issue, no matter what… and barely any ads.

Fifteen years later, the Fretboard Journal is still at it. Beyond the printed page, our tiny team now produces videos, podcasts, live events and a lot more… all for discerning musicians around the globe. If the idea of an independent, adventurous, informative and beautiful magazine dedicated to guitar culture appeals to you, consider a Fretboard Journal subscription or gift subscription this holiday season. We offer our legendary keepsake print edition as well as discounted digital subscriptions. And all gift subscription recipients will get a handwritten note from us informing them of your generosity.

As always, all print subscriber copies are mailed in a protective mailer to ensure no shipping damage.

It’s been quite a 15-year journey and we can’t wait to see what the next fifteen years hold. We hope you’ll join us. And don’t forget to bring friends.
