The Fretboard Journal is proud to debut Jacob Navarros’ “Mother of Exiles” video. This track can be found on Navarro’s new album, Otter House Sketches.
For Otter House Sketches, Navarro collaborated with musician Navid Eliot. The album is relaxed, beautiful and filled with deft guitar playing. On this video, Jacob is playing his 1935 Gibson L-30 archtop with a 14″ lower bout and a flat back. “It’s not a big sound, but it’s a simple, woody tone that sits in a mix real easily,” Navarro says. “A lovely old guitar.” Meanwhile, Navid is playing a 2015 Gibson LG-2.
