Three From ’37

Not surprisingly, the Fretboard Journal’s Jam Suite at Wintergrass 2012 was filled with some truly rare guitars. So when three 1937 instruments came through our door at once – a Martin D-18 and two Washburns that previously appeared in FJ #22 – we couldn’t resist having some fun with them.

Here is Kenny Smith, acclaimed flatpicker and two-time IBMA Guitarist of the Year winner, putting each guitar through its paces. We’ll let you decide which of these 75 year old guitars is your favorite.

Special thanks to Chuck Egner for lending us his Martin and to Mark Demaray for the Washburns!
