Outside of India, you don’t see too many Givson guitars (yeah, there’s a “v” there where the “v” should be). But America’s own Jonny Corndawg brought one for his performance at the Fretboard Journal offices. (Look closely and you’ll see that he had Billy Joe Shaver sign it on the lower bout).
Corndawg, as his name implies, is a pretty quirky guy. But the music he makes – a cross between Michael Hurley, Roger Miller and Jerry Reed – is insanely catchy. Besides his solo career, he’s performed alongside Middle Brother and Dawes. If you’d like to learn more about this singular character, give a listen to our podcast interview with him here.
