Julian Lage & Chris Eldridge – “Mean Mother Blues” at the Fretboard Summit

The first Fretboard Summit was winding down when Chris Eldridge and Julian Lage took to the stage on Sunday, the final act of a memorable weekend. It was worth the wait. The duo’s set was transcendent: filled with glorious solos, great singing from Critter and the incredible interplay that can only happen when two musicians are, well, having fun.

Perhaps the finest moment of Critter and Julian’s set was this tune: “Mean Mother Blues.” It was the last song of their set and the last tune played at the 2015 Summit before we had to close shop and tear the circus tent down. The duo are perfect partners and Julian’s solos are simply out of this world. Filmed November 8, 2015.

The next Fretboard Summit takes place October 14-16, 2016 and will again feature a wide array of Fretboard Journal favorites including Danny Barnes, Lawrence Juber, Matt Munisteri, Anthony Wilson, Bob Minner and more. As always, live music is just a small part of the whole experience, there are also guitar-related talks, panels, interactive exhibits, complimentary music classes and plenty of surprises.
