They may have different last names but, rest assured, the Cactus Blossoms’ Page Burkum and Jack Torrey are brothers. Harmonies this good – and this reminiscent of the Louvin Brothers and the Everly Brothers – simply don’t lie.
Burkum and Torrey came by the Fretboard Journal to perform “If I Can’t Win” from their J.D. McPherson-produced album, You’re Dreaming. With a pair of National guitars – a 1951 National flattop and an electric National from the early ‘50s plugged into a retro-inspired Tyler amplifier – the duo obviously have a love for all things vintage. But what struck us the most was how timeless and fresh their harmonies sound in 2016. We can’t wait to hear what’s next from this pair…
