It’s hard to put a date on Barna Howard. The Portland, Oregon songsmith makes music that harkens back to ’60s folk and ’70s country with its storytelling and arrangements, yet somehow still sounds fresh. There’s some Prine going on here, some Townes, Phil Ochs and a lot more. Howard stopped by the Fretboard Journal with his Martin D-28 LSV and performed “Rooster Still Crows” off his stellar 2015 album, Quite a Feelin’.
