The Fretboard Journal went on location to visit the legendary Martin guitar factory in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. While there, Martin’s Jason Ahner walked us through their guitarmaking operations, from raw wood storage to finish work.
In this clip, we get a tour of Martin’s state-of-the-art Sycamore Street factory, where all Martins since the mid-’60s have been produced. We see how technology and human hands work together, get a glimpse of Martin’s custom shop and more. In a previous video, we visited Martin’s North Street Factory, the landmark (and tiny) location where pre-1960s Martins were built.
