The Fretboard Journal is pleased to premiere “Pretty Polly” from Laura Baird’s forthcoming I Wish I Were a Sparrow, out October 20, 2017 on Ba Da Bing Records. Baird is an exceptionally talented multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, best known for her work in The Baird Sisters (with her sister, Meg) and with guitarist Glenn Jones. Beyond traditional Appalachian folk music, she credits composers such as Bach and Satie, and modern day musicians such as Opal and Yo La Tengo as influences.
