Bon Iver Designs a Guitar Made from a Whiskey Barrel

Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon recently joined forces with luthier Gordy Bischoff to create a custom electric baritone guitar made out of a Bushmills whiskey barrel. The guitar is up for auction on eBay with all proceeds going to the Confluence Project, a community arts effortin Vernon’s hometown of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The guitar, named the “1608,” features Bushmills bottle caps as the volume and control knobs, and is made almost entirely from the white oak wood of the whiskey barrel. Bischoff, an Eau Claire native, even included a shot of Bushmills in the guitar humidor to ensure the signature whiskey scent. You can learn more about the Confluence Project at www.eauclairearts.com/confluence. Nothing better than a philanthropic excuse to get your hands on a sweet new guitar, not to mention an entire barrel of whiskey.
