In addition to unearthing a treasure trove of archive photographs (including shots of Buskirk with his legendary Bigsby mandolin), Nakadate interviews Buskirk’s old friends such as Herb Remington, Freddy Powers and Clyde Brewer (and fanatics such as Deke Dickerson) about what made the Texan such a potent player. David Grisman even declares, “Paul Buskirk is one of the unsung heroes of the mandolin.”
