1934 Gibson L-5
Inspired by the music of Nick Drake, Davey Graham, Bert Jansch and other British folk icons, Chicago’s Ryley Walker has quietly been forging his own music path. In 2014, he released All Kinds of You, a critically-acclaimed album filled with gorgeous original folk tunes and lush arrangements.
During his Fretboard Journal session, Walker performed solo, sans the cello, keyboard or drums found on the full-length effort and delivered this beautiful version of “Hide in the Roses” on his Guild D-35.
Walker is still just in his mid-twenties. We can’t wait to see where his career goes next.
