The Ukulele Occasional, Volume Two
Recently discovered: a box of rare, new old stock copies of the Ukulele Occasional, Volume Two. This little (6"x9", black & white, 108 pages) 'zine served as the precursor to the Fretboard Journal for FJ cofounders Jason Verlinde and Michael John Simmons. Between 2001 and 2003, the duo published just two issues of this niche magazine.
Articles included in this issue:
Luthier Duane Heilman
King Kukulele
Harp Ukuleles
Herb Ohta
William H Macy
Repair Tips from Frank Ford
Azo Bell
... and a lot more!
As with the FJ, the focus throughout is on insightful articles and unique perspectives. Unlike the FJ, there's only one instrument represented ... the ukulele!
Note: Some copies have a small lime green $6.99 price tag on them ... these were returned to us by the now-defunct Tower Records but we promise they are intact and have no bent corners.
Supplies are extremely limited ...
