Now Mailing: Our Winter 2010 Issue
posted by Jason Verlinde
Five years ago, we started this magazine with a simple premise: everyone has a good guitar story. We're 2,464 pages into it and we’re still uncovering great tales from the world of music and world-class instrument photography. Our latest issue (FJ #20, Winter 2010) has just begun mailing. In it, you’ll find Bert Jansch, Bela Fleck, the Avett Brothers, a gorgeous photo essay on ’59 Les Paul ‘bursts, Fareed Haque and so much more. Also in the issue: I take a visit to New Hartford, CT and visit Guild to see how their latest American-made guitars are faring (note: I keep telling myself to stop writing stories and focus on business matters but interviewing luthiers and musicians is just too much fun!); Bobby Long shares his love for the Gibson J-200; Michael Eck visits the workshop of guitar innovator Joe Veillette and Shawn Hague takes us behind-the-scenes at the 65 Amps factory. We’ve also unveiled a new, permanent section throughout the magazine where musicians and readers alike can share their favorite instruments, old and new.
Our goal continues to be singular: to seek out the nooks and crannies of the world of musical instruments and guitars. If you haven’t joined us yet and would like to, subscribe today and we’ll make sure you get this issue immediately. You’ll also be able to find it at your local bookstore or guitar store soon. Thanks, as always, for making this reader-supported publication a part of your life.
