Fraulini Guitar Spotting in New Ben Harper Video

We’ve never set out to be a buying guide, but we still love it when our readers let us know about stuff they’ve purchased because of the magazine. A while back, musician Ben Harper asked me about the Todd Cambio / Fraulini guitar story we ran in issue 9. Cambio, as many of you know, creates near perfect reproductions of Leadbelly's old 12-string Stella. I gave Ben my honest (and thumbs up) review of the last Fraulini guitar I saw and, next thing I know, he was contacting the luthier. Fast forward a couple of years…just a few days ago, Ben posted a new video of his band Fistful of Mercy, a collaboration between Harper, Joseph Arthur and Dhani Harrison. At the 1:52 minute mark, you can see him strumming away on his Fraulini. Too cool!

Musically, this record is quite diverse from what we're used to from Ben Harper, filled with mellow tunes and gorgeous CSN&Y harmonies. I've always been a big Joseph Arthur fan, and I like it a lot. Look for an album from these three later in the year.
