Album Preview: Guitarist Ben Hall's Self-Titled Debut
Our latest full-length album preview features the new, self-titled solo debut by Nashville thumbpicker Ben Hall. At the young age of 22, Hall has already won his share of guitar contests, as well as the Horizon Award from the National Thumbpicker’s Hall of Fame. On this disc, he pays homage to heroes Chet Atkins and Merle Travis with some of the most tasteful and timeless arrangements we've heard in recent memory.
Hall's tunes on this album include"Cannonball Rag," "Windy and Warm," and "There'll Be Some Changes Made." His primary instruments are a Gretsch, a Telecaster and Wallace acoustic guitars.
Special thanks to Tompkins Square Records for letting us share this special record with Fretboard Journal readers for a limited time. You can order the album on Amazon here (digital version) or here (CD version).
